Dumpster Rules

• Carry items to the rear of the dumpster and pile them as high on the pile as possible, but below the dumpster's upper rim.

• Don't block the path into the dumpster by dropping items at the doorway when there is empty space deeper into the dumpster.

• Don't overfill the dumpster such that the door will not close.

• If the dumpster is too full and cannot accommodate your items, please don't put items outside the dumpster. The driver won’t pack them, and it will just clutter up our neighborhood.

  Don't put these in the dumpster

• Poisons, like insecticides, organic solvents, mercury, etc.

• Hazardous materials, asbestos, lead paint chips, etc

• Motor fuels, batteries, oil, and coolant

• Paint, unless hardened in the can

• No large quantity of building materials from home renovations. (Your contractor should carry them off.)

• Electronics, including computers and air conditioners. Take them to the Sisson Street DPW facility, and they will be recycled.
